Biographies of African American writers

Preview: A collection of short biographies about African American writers of the
19Th century.

Activity: Pick 3 of the people, read about them and write a short story that
includes all 3 of the people. It can, of course, be fictional, but try and
relate them in a realistic way.

Preview: This is the story of a slaveholder who discovers that his slaves have a secret. The author is a woman who heard the story from the slaveholder years later.
